How to reset the computer on my truck.i put a new key switch in it and now it will run a second and dye out

You have activated the security system, so now the dealer will need to reprogram the security system to recognize the new parts. However you might get lucky and have a mobile locksmith in your area that can do the same thing. Call around.

Yes, this is a security system problem. On a GM you need one working key to program additional keys to the vehicle yourself. Jim
