1994 t-bird brakes are hard but as soon as i start car they get soft. ABS light is on. Could a bad abs module cause this.

Without engine running, the pedal will be hard because you don't have the vacuum boost. Once the engine starts, power booster starts working and brakes become normal. ABS light on may be a switch that can switch them off and on. If that is not it, then you may have a bad module.
