2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 2WD MagnaRide (?)

So, the shocks on this beast have had it after
125,250 miles.  Trying to replace them, however,
mechanic says it needs OEM replacement.  Called
several CHEVY / GMC dealerships.  $525.00-
600.00 for each rear shock and the front shocks
have been discontinued.  This is stupid money for
rear shocks, but it’s the MagneRide system.  Has
anyone worked around or found suitable
aftermarket shocks that work?

You can buy a ACDelco, Sach or Monroe shocks that can be used with the electronic suspension, but these are excluded if you have the 4 wheel steering. Monroe 40039 for the rear. $170 plus shipping on rock auto. I couldn't find a number for the front with RWD, so you are right about being discontinued. Double check online or a local shop if these will fit your vehicle, you didn't specify an engine size.
