2002 Silverado 2500HD 6.0 Gas: no filter under the oil sensor

2002 Silverado 2500HD 6.0 Gas: has anyone ever encountered not halving a
filter under the oil sending unit.  I bought this truck new so I know what has
been dune with the engine. I've changed the sensor but no filter under it.

I would not sweat it but you can go buy one and install it if you like.

They started putting the filter screens in 2005 or 2006 if memory serves me correctly.

Thank you, I have 276,000 mi on my Silverado. And, the oil pressure has dropped from 75-80 to 40. I replaced the the siending unit, oil pump, and tube. While I was in there new timing gear and chain. Thanks again. .
