My front diff didn't like regular gear oil (chatter when backing up). I switched to Lucas 75W-90 synthetic and it was nice and smooth.

What type of gear oil to use on a 1994 chevy 3500 dually rear end?
If you are towing in a desert cliamate lots of heat. Watch banks power you tube videos on rear differentials-they have answers you are seeking.
Banks power videos explain heat build up during highway speeds and answer viscosity questions. Banks favors amsoil and includes it when you buy their diff cover.
Watch amsoil diff fluid change FOR 2008 chev duramax HD 2500.
Just passing along-dealer recpmmended lubricants are designed to get you just past the warranty period. Then YOU pay for repair worn put partsuse premium synthetics for longevity
Banks does NOT include Amsoil with diff. cover it is an addition charge if you want it. I went with Chevron Delo 75w90 Syn-Gear XDM.
