I have a similar problem. There is a cluster of metal lines near the fuel tank that has some rust holes in mine. I'm told the repair will cost ~$600, but it isn't my daily ride, so I haven't fixed it yet. Often, I will get out of the driveway and a few hundred yards down the road before it stalls, then I need to manually pump it back up. After that, it tends to be good for the day.
Your hand pump probably needs to be rebuilt! You can buy a kit with everything You need to do it for about $10.00 bucks!
I had the same issue air is getting in. Didn't have fuel leak either . Brought it to a guy that know's Duramax's and found the fuel lines were bad. He replaced the 2 lines that lead up to the fuel rails. The chevy dealer could not figure that out.
