This question is fairly generic. I am about to replace the gasket on the differential cover of my 2004 Silverado 2500HD. The gasket and the truck have 183,000 miles on them. Although the gasket has not failed yet, it seems to be showing signs that it my be getting old, so I am going to put a new one on. Should I use gasket sealer such as permatex, or put the new gasket on dry? If I need to use sealer, what type does everyone recommend? 3 Answers

The the vehicle is hard to start. Sounds like the evap purge valve. Not sure but never had one cause a vacum. Ive seen pressure, so i guess it could go the other way as well. help 2 Answers
