I am trying to determine towing capacity for my 2005 2500 CC 4X4 6.0L V8 SB. Manual says 9200 and our king pin weight cannot exceed 3,000lbs. My 5th W trailer dry is 7,800lbs and cannot exceed 11,700

You need a stronger hitch bar like this: http://www.reese- hitches.com/products/Class_IV__2_inch_Receiver_Hitch,41944
Just be aware what you tow so you don't exceed the trucks weight limit.
Joshua, a 5th wheel is not towed with a hitch bar. Best not to comment when you are clueless. Kelly, try asking advice from RV owner sites. Also depends on where you travel. If you have to pull uphill 7,000 ft. and downhill 7,000ft. It takes much greater towing capacity. If you live and travel in flat terrain you can get away with less capacity.
I just purchased a ASV PT100 and a 7ton trailer any one out there think that my 2007 2500 Silverado can take the job on or its time for an upgrade? (combine about 17000 lbs)
