My 1993 Ford Escort starts running fine in the beginning but after a while it turns off by itself and when I put it on neutral I start the car and it starts again but once it turns on again in a while it turns off after a while. Can anyone help me with this problem?

i would ask does it die while in gear or in neutral or park at idle or at high rpms. its important that questions have as much detail as possible, I;d venture to guess that your problem starts after the car has warmed up some. so maybe the egr valve is not opening.clean it out, check for vaccume leaks but before any of that check to make sure your battery connections are tight, a connection will work cold but fail later as it warms and changes shape
