Question type: Maintenance & Repair

On my 2004 trailblazer ext cooling reservoir tank,
there are 2 places for lines to connect. One on the
front of the vehicle side and the other back on the
firewall side by the sensor. Which one goes to the
radiator and which one is the vent?

Usually the lower, larger diameter hose is for coolant to flow between bottle and radiator. The upper, smaller diameter hose is for venting air from radiator to bottle. Some coolant bottles have three hose connections: lowest for coolant, another for venting air from radiator to bottle, and a third for draining coolant in case of excessive expansion. That one is usually at the very top by filler neck.
