Can the belt-minder in a 2004 Mustang be disconnected? I wear my seat belt all the time but do NOT need a beeper driving me crazy every 45 seconds.

Wearing your seat belt is the law - so I will continue to do it with or without the damn belt-
minder
Hearing someone's idea of what hell sounds like every 45 seconds is HORRIBLE

It can be done, but due to legal issues I highly doubt anyone will answer your question. If you are wearing the belt while operating the auto, What's the issue the alarm ? It should go off as soon as the belt latch is connected to the clasp. If you have a "belt reminder" alarm going off for an unoccupied seat, then you need a seat pressure sensor replacement. Even dogs have specialty made "body" harnesses for use with the seat belt system.

THE SEAT BELT IS A SAFETY DEVICE - THE ANNOYING DEVICE IT'S HOOKED TO IS AS ANNOYING AS FINGERNAILS ON A BLACKBOARD - OR PEOPLE WHO ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT THINGS THEY ARE TRUELY CLUELESS ABOUT. MY SEATBELT IS ALWAYS BUCKLED WHEN I'M DRIVING SO HOW IS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM MY DASHBOARD SAFE?

The chime is a warning that something is wrong with the restraint system - not just to buckle your belt. You will need to have someone hook up a scan tool and see what the Restraint system (including the Air Bags) is doing. Good Day.

Thanks for trying to help - Fordtudor seems to have the best answer. You know, I received all these replies telling me to wear my seat belt because it's the law ... after I said the exact same thing ... I WEAR MY BELT - IT'S THE DARNED ALARM THAT"S DRIVING ME CRAZY! Every 45 seconds! WHILE THE BELT IS ON! Thanks again!

I have the same problem with my 2003 Mach1. To kill the sound, There is a plug underneath your drivers seat attached to your seat belt. The sensor is broken. If you unplug it the buzzer will stop. That is all I have done and no more Buzzing. I need to buy a new seat belt latch but have not done so yet. But no more buzzers
