The same motor all they did was change out the crank just to make a little more horsepower and that's it.

The 3.9 Windsor Essex "Stroker" has a two centimeter longer stroke and a five centimeter shorter dome than the 3.8. Ford engineered these engines to be oxygen starved to increase the efficiency of the fuel combustion to decrease emissions. You have to mess with them to turn the changes into power. Highly recommended.

I have a 2004 mustang 3.9 when it gets to running temperature and you shut it off it does not want to run, it spits and sputters I can’t seem to find the problem. I have tried everything changed just about everything but the computer. I hope someone out there has a solution.

220Hp 200ft Stock^^^. My self ive added cam, a tune, headers, straight pipes with 2 mufflers no cats, bored throttle body bored intake manifold and manifold plate, put a aftermarket air intake on, 311 gears, shaved heads, idk the dyno ive never had it on one but ive outrank a 4.6GT in mine. Only things they changed on a the 3.8 and 3.9 was the intake manifold, a differant crank shaft and longer piston rods, the 3.9 is actually the best V6 out of the older 4 banger fox body's and the 3.8 motors and the 4.0 motor out of all the 3.9 like I said would be the best one V6 wise.
