http://www.autopartscheaper.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=mustang+smart Common Symptoms of a bad SJB. (this is a broad range of symptoms, your vehicle may only experience one or more symptoms at a time). • One or More Brake lights is stuck on at all time. • Battery Drains Quickly When Car Sits for a few days • Headlights are on bright all the time. • Turn Signals or parking lights are stuck. • Power Windows do not work • Instrument cluster malfunctions • Dash lights quit working. The original Smart Junction Box installed in these Mustangs had 2 major problems. Problem 1: The windshield leak problem. These cars had a bad seal from the factory that allowed rain to drip down on the bottom of the windshield. The water leaks directly into the SJB box, and ruins it. Problem 2: Poorly engineered part when the car was new. These circuit boards were poorly

Gary, as to my knowledge, NO, Ford has done nothing about this. I have a '06 GT and it won't keep the battery charged. When going to start it, it seems to hesitate. I have cleaned the terminals, replaced the battery, alternator and starter and still the same damn thing. It was recommended to me in another related question in here to install a grounding wire (strap) between the negative post of the battery and on a mounting bolt of the alternator, which I did and still the same thing persists. So, we are all the in same boat as it comes to this problem with 05-07 Mustangs and draining power. Good luck.

ya I have similar problems and am told it is the smart junction box , my problems are more related to power options like lights ,headlights, tail lights signal lights, brake lights, power windows ,door locks, trunk lock … the lights problem is a real safety issue. on july9th 2019 my wife and I were on our way home and all the light went out on a dark turn , could not see shit , I hit the shoulder of the road and turned the steering wheel the other way and when the light came back on I was on the wrong side of the road , great experience, and our local Ford dealer says they never heard of such problems , ya really, but for $100.00 per hr. they would have a look at it . by the time they find it would be probably be cheaper to buy a new Camero , HEY FORD , DEAL WITH YOUR SAFETY ISSUES YOU BUNCH OF LYING CROOKS , MAKERS OF LEMONS AND RUST BUCKETS, ……………. pissed of owner , oh and the car has never been winter driven

I can't tell you the problem but I can tell you a cure. I bought a 2006 Mustang GT convertible with the Shaker 500 radio new and have had years of battery issues, even new batteries. I've read hundreds of blogs looking for a solution and the only thing that has worked is I removed fuse #56, which controls the radio and have not had a problem in almost one full year. It's a pain replacing the fuse when I want the radio but easier than jumping or replacing the battery. I even had a new battery go dead in 4 days after sitting in the garage. Several people said the radio/CD changer would come on when the car was parked and not in use. I promise this works. Just pull fuse 56 for the radio.
