Driving and cuts off

Was driving and it cuts off and check
engine light comes on and oil gauge
drops to low. Let it sit for a couple
minutes it started but was making a
noise drive it home and it shut off
again. Had a friend look at it he got it
started but oil gauge was still low and
check engine light was still on and
flashing. Now it has no crank action
put key in the igneous lights come on
in the dash but won't start. Was told
it could be wires or oil pump or
alternator but auto zone says it's not
the alternator when I called and
explained it.
