If replaceing a head gasket will u
be able to see where the old one is
messed up at when taking it off

You should be able to see the problem. Look for burnt areas of the gasket or a spot where the gasket layers have separated.

Maybe yes and maybe no. If coolant was going into a cylinder the combustion chamber and valves will be much cleaner than the others. Coolant cleans all the carbon off. In a 4.6 Ford engine that has not been overheated a bad head gasket is not a common problem.
