Adding courtesy light to oem 3rd brake light

My truck has 3 wires going to plug for
3rd brake light. Original light used 2 and
was only brake light. The new brake /
courtesy light setup has 3 and plugs in
perfectly to oem 3 wire connector but
no courtesy ( white light) function. How
do i get this to function? Does that 3rd
wire go to

When you turn the headlight switch to the point that the interior lights come on (the click past the highest dash light setting) the bed light (the clear light) will come on. This is the only way to turn it on/off, just as a reminder the interior lights will be on the whole time the switch is in that setting.

I tried to find the switch side of the power going from the light switch to the light itself. I may need to pull the switch out and check for a wire near,but not hooked up
