Will a Ford Escape 4.6 AWD engine fit in a 1988
Ford ranger? What would I need to swap it...???

First off the 2002 Ford Escape came with a 2.3L or a 3.0L engine. Those engines are set up for a FWD/AWD vehicle. Your Ranger is RWD, so No.
