how to open a bent hood latch

i recently rear ended a jeep in my ford escape 06 and the entire hood buckled
upwards jamming the hood latch and i cant open the hood manualy with the
hood release lever. please help with ADVice

Since the front of the vehicle is already damaged, a crowbar or similar tool can be used to forcibly pry the hood open. Hope that helps! Jim

Yup , take the kid gloves off , get the iron in there and bend the hood back up , then when it's close to normal it may pop open for you . Once it's open you can bend things back close to where they're supposed to be , The hood can't be fixed you'll need a new one .
