1993 Ford Ranger XLT - What Does This Wire Do?

Question type: Car Customization

I am working on installing a new radio into my truck as the old one was very poorly put
on and not all of the wires were even attached. I noticed that there are three wires that
I am not sure what they do. The first is the orange and black wire, which seems to
allow the overhead lights to work whenever the key is to the on position. There is then
a blue and red which also lets the overhead light work, but permanently lights up the
dashboard lights. After that I am most boggled by the black and green one as it is not
listed in the wiring diagram for a 1993 Ranger.

I was wondering what the light blue and red one should connect to, as well as what the
orange and black one should connect to. I was also wondering if anyone knew what
the black and green one is?

When they install wiring harnesses at the factory, sometimes they have extra wires left over. You know all those options that you can get? Well if you want a power antenna, there is a wire. If you opt out, then there is a left over wire. Etc..etc.. If you have got the stereo in and everything on it is functioning, I would just cap the extra wires and not worry about it. The extras are probably for a digital clock option or the A/C option. As long as the stereo functions and everything in the truck still works as it always did, I would call it a day.
