Possibly water pump failing, collapsing hoses, stopped up radiator, bad rad cap, low coolant, air trapped in cooling system and or bad fan. Just to start with. I would suspect water pump if it has never been replaced. Inspect it. Is there any sign of coolant around the weep hole? If so replace water pump.
