Ford expedition over heating / leaking

I have a 2004 ford expedition  5.4  triton Eddie
Bauer  Crossroads.
We traveled 40 miles pulled into a Walmart super
center to get a couple things.
I opened the driver side door and looked down and
seen fluid  by the driver side front tire . It looked
like it was oil but I knew it couldn't have been
because we had the truck and a/c running because
mom and the four babies were still sitting in the
truck . So. I checked it and it was clear and thick so
it couldnt have been the a/c over flow . And it
smelled like engine coolant.  Well I looked over
everything and couldn't see anything at all no leaks
no nothing bit it seems like it is all going to the fan
guard and dripping /running off of that to the
ground. If anyone has a idea what could be wrong
please feel free to help !
