Very vague question. Could be many things. How many miles on this 2004? Is it showing any codes if hooked up to an OBD2 scanner? Any recent trips to the mechanic? What noises does it make at idle? Sound normal?
My mom had this same problem with her 2015 expedition and the mechanic said it was a bad electronic throttle body.
