I was driving and it stalled. I tried start it, and will start for a second or two then dies. Is the problem the fuel pump?

Turn the key to the on position and turn it off. Do that a few times just to see if the fuel pump is working first.

Ok, yes. I can hear it, I didn't even think of that. But its still dying after a second or two.

Another thing to take into consideration is the battery voltage. On cars like yours, if the battery voltage is low, the ignition coil will not have enough voltage to run the vehicle. Try to start the vehicle again, but this time feather the gas pedal and see if it's still running

Thanks, yeah I did try that, but it didn't work. I'll check the voltage, but the battery is only 6 months old.

So if you feathered it, that means it is getting gasoline to all cylinders, but just isn't firing for some reason. Some batteries, even if only 6 months old still tend to drain rather quickly. Do you have a trickle charger?

If I get the battery tested or JumpStart it is that the same, for testing purposes. Should I test the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel pump. Can I rent a fuel pump tester?

Autozone may have a lone a tool for a fuel pressure gauge. They only cost about 25 bucks.
