car and truck overheating

well I am in Wisconsin and it is "15- outside" . My car and truck overheat and with no heat. The make is ford, both same thing, this only happen when it is real cold out. Help please

Your truck thermostat is not working correctly and the heating core is probably clogged up . Typical of FORD trucks.

This happened to my Ford Explorer once ... the thermostat was only stuck. Once it warmed up outside, it worked again. Hopefully you'll be as lucky. Is it minus 15 degrees or 15 degrees? I bet a lot of thermostats are stuck today!

Make sure you have the proper 50/50 mixture of antifreeze in the radiator and it is relatively fresh. Many individuals overlook the coolant level in their vehicles and never change it at all. When low, people tend to pour in plain water, a no-no. Wouldn't take long at -15 degrees to stick a thermostat close if the fluid freezes.
