2002 ford explorer refuses to crank when cut off

Explorer will crank the first time but when you cut it off it won't crank again unless you
unlock it with the remote from the inside. The security alarm light will be flashing also.
The alarm system also has a key pad on the drivers side. Do I need to reset the alarm
keypad on the door or what.

Shouldn't. My 2003 will start right up from inside if I turn it off and do not exit the vehicle.
