I have a 2002 Mountaineer V8 AWD same as the Explorer and the O/D light came on last year also don't ignore it the Servo Bore is worn eventually the transmission will not shift properly you have the 5R55W (5speed) or 5R55S (6speed) check out YouTube fordTechMakuloco and Transmissionguy1 I have over 160,000 thousand miles this is the first time the transmission started to fail ego139
