need help on. my 2002 ford Explorer

So some1 tryd to steal my 2002 ford Explorer by
taking my ignition out well I put a ignition in I
bought from u pick it put it in when I go to start it it
doesn't crank or try to start the dashboard light
and all work it jus won't do anything when I try an
start it help me asap please

I believe the lock cylinder turns a small gear that moves a "rack" up or down in the column ,this is your switch , if it is on the wrong tooth or not at all it won't work right , take a look in there and see .If you were replacing it you could see it's original position but if it was hacked then you have no idea .
