Are you having starting problems? Take it to AutoZone or Advanced Auto Parts and have them test the alternator. It's a free service. It's possible that the alternator is defective.

Thank you . Will it be defective if it has only been on there about 3 weeks?

I stay away from Autozone for pumps and alternators. Received three bad power steering pumps out of the box. Wouldn't have been so bad had the pulley not had to be removed with a puller and pressed on. Spend a little more money and purchase a quality part.
