Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a water leak on my 2002 Ford
Explorer. I noticed a smell today when I left
work and it didn't run hot until about 30
mins later. Now I have noticed a leak in the
front of the motor. I need some advice.

Not sure what it's called but where the hoses are connected maybe to the intake it looks to be leaking there. Would it hurt if I continued to drive it as long as I kept water in it until I could afford to get it fixed?

On the top of the engine, near the front there may be a plastic housing where the radiator hose attaches. There is one on the 2003. They are prone to leak at the seams, a replacement part is about 100 bucks, if that is the problem and is made of plastic. A aftermarket version is obtainable made of aluminum, which eliminates the leaking seam problem due to heat.
