Will an old battery cause dome lights and door open idiot lights to randomly go on/off?

Door open idiot light keeps coming on although all doors/hatch closed.  I have an old battery (5 years just found out) that I will be replacing tomorrow.  Can a bad battery cause odd stuff like dome lights not coming on or not going off or door open light coming on randomly?

It is possible, but I guess you will find out when that battery is replaced. Good luck with it.
