A used engine that is compatible will have nearly as many miles as the old one and may not last long . A crate motor may be best , There's no cheap way to do it
It’s not really a year thing but a numbers thing, the replacement engine must have the same number on it as the one in the vehicle now, if it doesn’t then it will be incompatible with the electronics.
