Where to start $$$$are limited

Asked by Natalie Jan 22, 2018 at 02:13 PM about the 2002 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

in need of a reliable transmission shop that does
not want an arm and a leg to repair I understand
that there's only one transmission for my vehicle
the transmission is already been replaced about 3
years ago I'm thinking because it does go into
reverse and the overdrive light flashes that it could
possibly be something repairable Within diagnostic
stated five area codes in it I just really need some
guidance how to get my truck repairs and not to
get myself out of my house and home carless in
Crestview Florida

Go with a Ford factory rebuilt transmission, They have the best warranty going - 3 years with unlimited miles. I have one and I am completely happy with it. Way better than any rebuilt I have had in the past.

I know you want to repair the one you have but you may just be throwing away hundreds of dollars just to find you need a new one anyway. Check the ATF level and see if it looks red or brown and burned smelling.
