The doors are all closed but the car thinks one is open. So it dings while I am driving & sets of the theft alarm while park. What would cause this? Its a 2002 Ford explorer

I had a 2000 ford extended cab and when the switch to turn the interior lights out failed it did much the same thing, wouldn’t recognize the door was closed, cheap part simple to change, somewhere to start
