I have a 2003 Ford Explorer 4.0. I'm not getting power to my fuel system. I've replaced the pump, filter, and inertia switch. The old inertia switch connector was melted at the switch. No fuel to eng.

No fuel to engine. When truck is in the
on position, the fuel pump runs for a
second then shuts off. Need help
asap. Out of ideas. Don't really know
my way around a car.

The fuel pump does not stay on with the key in the on position. Just long enough to build up pressure in the system, then shuts down. If you know your way around a multi meter then begin checking for power to the inertia switch. If it melted I suspect an overload.
I do not have a schematic for the vehicle, however, if it is a switch it should be getting twelve volts.

Ok. I borrowed a code reader and it said "no power train DTCs or Freeze Frame stored in vehicles computer". What does that mean? And could that be the cause of my misfire?
Digital Trouble Codes These are set when a problem is detected while the vehicle is running, normally. The computer in you vehicle has not detected any systems operating outside of normal perimeters.
