where is the transmission control solenoid at on a 93 lx 3.8

Asked by ds18rollin8 Dec 31, 2006 at 10:50 AM about the 1993 Ford Thunderbird LX RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have a 3.8 and was wanting to know where the automatic transmission control solenoid is? The car gets up 2 40 and goes to shift into OD and just revs like its in neutral. It just happened when I made a turn and started to accelerate

Hello, This is some tough information to find! I was able to find you a few diagrams of the engines through 1992, but the 1993 continue to elude me. Hopefully, this one will get you on your way: http://www.albeedigital.com/supercoupe/articles/abs-system.html If this doesn't help, I would advise you to contact any of the online parts stores and see if they can help you install it. You can try stores such as http://www.autopartswarehouse.com or even the Ford website to start exploring. Best of luck! CarGrrl

Change your filter and fluid first and drain the torque converter.Fords were known to have shifting problems if the fluid gets too dirty.I would also add a quart of Slick 50 trans. treatment. It really does work !
