Check the wiring under your hood for any kind of corroded and or bare wires that may have fused themselves together. My '05 five hundred went into failsafe/limp mode four times over a 2 month period. Once while doing 85 down the highway, instantly going from 85mph to 30mph without warning. Each time it was simply wiring issues... corroded bare wires. It was all electrical. I haven't had an issue with limp mode in almost a year now.
