Power Steering Problem

Anyone have their p.s. rack-and-pinion and/or pump go out? Mine (both), did at 25K!
Then, $1100.00 and a year later more similar symptoms of excessive strain noise on hard turns. It turned out to be that the fluid level dropped somehow. No visable drips anywhere. Possibly an internal leak on a new rack?

you have a warranty on that ford? or a blow torch?
empty out power steering pump,do this with a squirt bottle handle with the tube attatched pump fluin in some kind of jug, refill with LUCAS P S fluid,100% to cure your problem.
Thanks. Midas was nice enough to do a complementary flush. They said there were no shavings in the fluid. It's a mystery as to where the fluid went. I heard about Lucas products and got their P.S. Stop Leak. I added some but intend to just whatch the level and add more if needed.
thats a good sighn.most likely when the rack was replaced the seal on the PS lines to it did not seal when installed.
