Yes, you can replace the throttle position sensor without doing anything else unless something else is needs replacement. It's a simple part that attaches to the throttle body and a wire harness plugs into it. Easy, inexpensive repair.
Thanks. I had the part my mechanic buddy said it wasn’t right that it was 180 out. I honestly don’t know. Returned that part but reordered from someone else in case was wrong part

That sounds like a Torx screw fastener, try a T20. But on my Taurus it's a large Phillips head. It's tight so get a good fitting bit with some leverage.
