Low Idle After Timing Chain Replacement - 2006 Ford Focus ZX5: 115,000m

Asked by pajj Oct 21, 2014 at 10:51 AM about the 2006 Ford Focus ZX5 SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car making loud noise under the hood with oil leaking from around spark plug area.
Got a tune up w/ diagnostic:
-Diagnosed that the valve cover gasket needed to be replaced
-Diagnosed motor mounts needed replacement

During valve cover replacement:
-Verified the guide on the timing chain was broken (?)
-Timing Chain (kit) installed

Now the engine idle is very low, in fact it cut off at stoplights.
Shop is trying to say its a dirty MAF Sensor or the EGR valve..
This was not happening when I brought it in...
What else could be causing the low idle issue?
