Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Ford Taurus. I is leaking coolant from
the driver's side. You can see where it has sprayed
at the top on the driver's side. I checked the top
hose doesn't appear to be leaking from there.
Where could it be leaking? It runs fine when I am
driving but when I stop the temp Gage goes up.

If your Taurus has the Duratec engine, the water pump is located where you describe the leak. Duratec Taurus has the numeral "S" as the eighth digit of the VIN number. It could also be a heater hose on either engine. And radiator leaks can blow back almost anywhere.

Thank you for answering.it isn't a duratec engine as the water pump is on the passenger side. Thanks fo letting me know know about the heater hose. That is very helpful.
