When starting my taurus, the dome light and all dash lights flash you can hear a clicking sound and the door ajar beem gets consistent like an alarm. I only stops when you hold down the window button. When you let go, it starts again. Occurs when I turn the key, not even started the car yet. Any ideas? It sounds like a short but need ideas so the repair shop does not go fishing and I don't go broke. Help please

my 1996 ford taurus gl when going down the road and coming to a full stop. the car will not move unless you put it in neutral and back to drive it will then go down the road.
