What would cause air to get in a line affecting my power steering? Does that mean that there is a leak somewhere?

What's going on...? Can you elaborate a bit please? Is it 'growling' or something...what makes you say there is air in it. Power steering systems bleed themselves quickly, after a few turns of the wheel

The car is currently at the repair shop, and when I talked to the mechanics today, they said there is air in the line and that's why it's hard for me to turn and there is a whining noise. They said the pump is fine, and they just have to get the air out. But I just wanted to know if air being in the line meant there was a leak. Because they didn't say anything about a leak, and this isn't the first time this has happened. I just want to make sure they fix everything right this time.

It's probably not air in the system but an issue with the steering rack.
