2005 Ford Taurus Transmission
Driving down the highway my taurus just reved up, I had lost all Gears, no warning. I bought this car new, and have always keep it in great condition, it gave me no problems the transmission just stopped working. is it a sensor, or is it fried Im lost what should I do?

Many of the Taurus transmissions have had issues with the input or output speed transmission sensors failing. I would have a shop that has a ford style scanner see if you have any stored codes. Usually a basic reader will not pick these codes. I know that is usually a good idea on these transmissions to change the fluid around the 30k mark. Hopefully it is just a sensor issue which I think it might be, this would require draining the fluid and getting into the valve body area. Good Luck!

First of all it depends on how many miles are on the car but driving down the road if it just revved up and you lost all the gears it's probably going to be an internal issue your transmission is probably bad but you could have it scanned at a shop to make sure. First thing though is check make sure it's full of fluid and to see if the fluid is burned but if it's got a lot of miles on the car is pretty much probably an internal issue it's time for a rebuild
