Start/run issue any suggestions?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

05 Taurus will crank but wont start unless I
use starting fluid but then dies.  I can put a
gas soaked rag in the air intake box and car
will start and run under low acceleration  new
coil pack (3rd one) new fuel pump ( it is
pumping ) plug wires hooked up properly yet
car still misfires. Could it be the ICM ? Any
suggestions ?

did you hook up an obdii code scanner up yet to pull the trouble codes?

Are the injectors firing ? backwoods doesn't mean backwards , gas soaked rags in the air box is a bad idea . Have you pissed on the spark plugs yet ?

Yes code scanner said faulty wiring harness which was replaced , this is not my car and I'm not really even doing much to help get it running except asking questions and yes injectors are firing
