My windshield wipers suddenly quit working on my 2005 Ford taurus? What do i check first to get them working again?

Check the wiper arms where they connect, make sure the hold down bolts are tight, may have to replace the wiper arms as that spline will strip out, turn wipers on and see if you can see any linkage moving threw the air vent under the windshield. If still no go then check the fuse, and if that is good, check the electrical connection on the wiper motor and verify that there is power running to the motor, still no go, replace the wiper motor.
