I tried starting my 06 Honda Civic using only the
key without the FOB Chip. Thought battery was
dead, Tried jumping it , didn't work. Battery was
tested and is good. Hooked battery back in to the
car and all dash lights out, won't turn over and only
the hazard lights flash on their own and the engine
makes a buzzing sound as if something is on.

U have to have the key with chip. Its a theft deterrent it will not start without it
Thank you for answering. Yes I have the fob key now but the still does not have power and is making the buzzing noise when the battery is connected. Any advice?
Has no power? If it won't crank but battery is OK could b starter. U can take it out and have starter tested. Where's buzzing noise coming from?
One more question, can starting your car without the FOB key kill your starter?
I have never heard that it could. I have accidentally used non FOB keys and no impact on starter. But I don't put anything passed car co's now days...lol
