how much horse power does a stock 5.0 liter have?

225hp/300tq. When it was brand new, after 16 years of getting the crap kicked out of it by other drivers, its probably not close to that anymore.

if you are looking for bang for buck this would be probably the best car i n the world for that. making a ten second car is within $7500.00 after purchase if you shop right. they can take one heck of a beating aswell where lots of other cheap cars have many rebuilds to keep the pace reliably.

just to add to that. that extra $7500.00 will jump to $30000.00 if you want car to look nice aswell and keep the power under control.

Close. Actually, in 1992 the 5.0L was rated at 225hp, but only 275ft-lbs of torque. 1990 was the last year it made 300ft-lbs, thank you very much emissions!
