SQUEAKY NOISE WHEN TURNING WHEEL

Asked by 1253FORD May 07, 2013 at 04:45 AM about the 2005 Cadillac Escalade ESV Platinum 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2005 Cadillac Escalade is starting to make a squeaky noise when I turn . I notice it
when I am driving slowly only (so far). I have about 170k miles on it.
I wondered to with this kind of mileage can I expect anything else to start breaking that
would be a high expense item?

sounds like ball joints, above and below the spindle. if it does it standing still have someone turn the steering wheel while youre under the truck, make sure its in park!!! there may be a sweet spot for the noise to happen, barely turned or fully turned Im not sure on this model the joints may be greasable but may need replacing
