03 PT Cruiser turbo check engine light is on?

Asked by kiddno6 Oct 06, 2013 at 03:38 PM about the 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser GT Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I need some help figuring out what the problem is on my 03 GT.  I purchased the car 2
months ago with 119850 miles on it.  When I got it; the serpentine belt was making a
noise plus the interior dome did not work.  Drove it home with the fog lights on and
parked it.  Next morning the fog lights did not work and after 20 miles the check engine
light came on (codes P0031 and P0037 O2 Sensors).  So far I have replaced the
following things:
Serpentine belt
Upstream O2 sensor (twice - first OEM then Bosch)
Downstream O2 sensor (twice -first OEM then Bosch)
Map Sensor
EGR gasket
Air temp Intake sensor
Throttle Position Sensor
Fuel line from tank to engine
Upper motor mount
Spark plugs
Wires
O-rings
Valve cover gasket
Front brakes
Front rotors
Brake system flushed
Fuel cap
Radiator flushed
New Radiator cap
Turn signal switch /multifunction switch (twice first was used -fog lights did not work
put a new in and the fog lights work
Dash fuses
Light bulbs

Only sensors I have not replaced:
Power steering sensors
Knock Sensor Connector

Check engine light is still on (P0031 and P0037) and dome lights still do not work.

What have I missed?

You should first "read" the codes whether at home or at your local auto parts store (NAPA, O'Rielly, AutoZone, etc.). If you can't drive the car there, try "www.Chilton's.com" and see if they have a section regarding clearing the codes. Make sure the battery is fully charged, clear all codes and let it sit for about one hour turned off completely. After that check the car out again and see if the codes return.

Ok any codes that are part specific, turbo. Waste gate a small valve inside the turbo it self that prevents over pressure to engine, may be a problem, possible catylist below thresold.or partially restricted. Scan once replace once. The electrical check the fog light relay main fb under hood, and fuses
