Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 pt cruiser. It idles rough and runs
rough after 10 or 15 minutes of traveling. Does not
turns off. I had to adjust aceleration a little to
mantain 900 rpm’s.  Any suggestions?   Thanks

Clean the throttle body and check for any vacuum leaks.

I’ve changed throttle body, spark plugs, checked for vacuum leaks, some sensors. strange part is that this rough or misfire occurs after 10 or 15 minutes of traveling, I’d say after it warms up. I had to adjust the acceleration to 900 rpm’s because sometimes it will shut down when idle at an intersection or light. I’ve had no problem turning it over again.

Did you have the computer scanned for codes? With all that, there must be a check engine light. If not, the light may not be working, have it scanned anyway. If there is no power to the diagnostic port, check the cigarette lighter fuse, usually it powers the diagnostic port. I had a much older car that acted that way and there was no light, it ended up being injectors. But don't replace any more parts til you have it scanned and tested. You may need someone who has a scanner that can read live data. They will run the car with it hooked up and see where the fault is while running.

Computer was scanned and oil sensor showed up. Nothing else. I’ll check live data scan. Thanks

Temp sensor, the sensor is telling computer engine is cool. That's my educated guess.
